India and Japan sign MoU to strengthen cooperation in Information and Communications Technology

  The Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad urged the electronics industry of Japan to invest in India as well as avail the benefits of the new technologies. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between India and Japan on January 15, 2021, to enhance cooperation in the field of ICT- Information and Communications Technology. The MoU was signed by Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Union Minister for Communications, Electronics and IT, and Takeda Ryota, the Internal Affairs and Communications Minister of Japan. The signing was exchanged through a video conference. The Japanese Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications expressed happiness during the signing of the MoU between India and Japan. He also assured the commitment of the Japanese government towards mutual cooperation and investments in India. Palestine to hold first national elections after 14 years

  The parliamentary elections will be conducted on May 22nd, presidential elections on July 31st and Palestinian National Council elections on August 31st. Palestine is set to hold its  first national elections  in 2021 after a span of 14 long years. UK invites Prime Minister Modi to attend G7 Summit to be held in June 2021

  For the meeting, the UK government has also invited leaders from South Korea and Australia to attend as guest countries for deepening the experience and expertise around the table. The government of the United Kingdom has invited PM Modi to the G7 Summit as a guest. According to a press release by the British High Commission on January 17, 2021, the meeting is scheduled to be held in Cornwall from June 11 to 14, 2021. The release also informed that the Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson may also visit India ahead of the G7 Summit. For the meeting, the UK government has also invited leaders from South Korea and Australia to attend as guest countries for deepening the experience and expertise around the table. India supplies two Mobile Harbour Cranes to strengthen cargo handling capacity of Iran’s Chabahar Port

  The consignment of the cranes that arrived from Marghera Port in Italy was unloaded successfully at Chabahar Port on January 18, 2021 and also underwent trials run. The Indian government has supplied a consignment of two Mobile Harbour Cranes- MHC to Chabahar Port in Iran. The total contract value of the consignment is over USD 25 million under a agreement signed for the supply of 6 MHC. The consignment of the cranes that arrived from Marghera Port in Italy was unloaded successfully at Chabahar Port on January 18, 2021 and also underwent trials run. This move is also a step towards India’s commitment to the infrastructure development of Shahid Beheshti Port of Chabahar. The location of the port is significant strategically.
